The problem

Three things break IT for a London PE firm

01

Deal data ends up everywhere

A live transaction scatters confidential files across advisers, targets and lawyers. Every extra party is another route out of the deal room, and which one it was is rarely obvious until afterwards.

02

Every portfolio company is different

You inherit whatever each founder built along the way, and nobody owns the security baseline across the whole book. In practice the weakest company sets the level of exposure the fund carries.

03

Resilience evidence takes time to build

Where FCA or DORA requirements apply, useful records, testing and supplier oversight need to reflect the real environment. They cannot be assembled well at the last minute.

What we do about it

Joined-up IT, security and resilience support

Deal room security

Encrypted data rooms with granular access and a full audit trail. You see who opened what, and when. Access dies with the deal instead of lingering for years.

How we handle security →

Standardise the portfolio

One security baseline across every company you own. New acquisitions come onto it instead of staying an exception. You stop discovering surprises at exit diligence.

What managed support covers →

Technical evidence for resilience work

We help maintain ICT records, run agreed testing and keep supplier information current, working alongside your legal and compliance advisers on scope.

Technology due diligence before you buy

IT due diligence on a target before you commit. You get the risks, the technical debt and what fixing them costs, in time to reflect all of it in the price.

Next door to PE

Run a fund, a family office or a law firm too?

Much of this work is the same next door. Hedge funds care more about the trading desk. Family offices care more about the household. Law firms care about the SRA. Each has its own page.

The details firms usually want before a first conversation: our certification, how quickly the team responds, how long we have been doing this, and who would be looking after your estate.

Questions we get asked

Questions people ask on the first call

What does IT support for a private equity firm actually cover?

It can cover the fund, selected portfolio companies or both. At fund level that often means the deal room, devices, Microsoft 365, security and technical evidence. At portfolio level it may mean a shared baseline, tailored to each company rather than imposed without review.

Do you support private equity firms in Mayfair and Canary Wharf?

Yes. Our engineers cover the whole of London, and most of our clients sit in Mayfair, the City and Canary Wharf. We come on site when it is faster than remote, which for a trading floor or a partner meeting it usually is.

How does DORA apply to a UK private equity firm?

DORA directly applies to specified EU financial entities. A UK firm is not automatically in scope because it manages an EU fund, has an EU entity or supplies an EU firm; the entity, authorisation and operating model matter. Contractual requests may still pass through the chain, so confirm scope with legal or compliance advisers before designing the programme.

Can you run IT due diligence on an acquisition target?

Yes. We assess infrastructure maturity, security posture, licensing exposure, technical debt and how hard integration will actually be. You get a written report with the remediation costs, in time to use them in the negotiation.

What does it cost?

Managed IT is priced per user, per month, as one fixed fee with no callout fees, so the monthly figure is known in advance. We quote it once we have seen the estate, because headcount and the depth of security and compliance you need both move it. Portfolio work and due diligence are quoted per engagement, since a two-company book and a twenty-company book are not the same job.
