Get IT support in the City of London, built for regulated firms
We support the EC1–EC4 firms that cannot afford an outage between 07:00 and 18:00.
Recognise the IT problem the Square Mile creates
Square Mile firms are small headcount, high consequence. A 40-person asset manager in EC2 runs infrastructure complexity closer to a 400-person business: market data feeds, regulated record-keeping, multiple counterparty portals, and a client base that notices immediately when email stops.
That combination breaks the usual mid-market IT model. Generalist support is fine until the FCA asks how you would keep an important business service running through a supplier failure, or until a trading application stops talking to a data feed at 07:30.
Expect these three things from us in EC1–EC4
We schedule around the market. Every change has a window, and nothing that could interrupt a desk happens while the desk is live.
We keep the evidence current. FCA operational resilience and DORA both expect documentation that reflects reality — asset inventories, ICT third-party registers, incident timelines. Producing that during normal service is far cheaper than reconstructing it under review.
We plan for the building, not just the network. City offices come with riser restrictions, landlord-appointed cabling contractors, permitted working hours and lead times measured in weeks. Ignoring that is how office moves slip.
The firms we support in EC1–EC4
Our City clients cluster around regulated financial services — hedge funds, private equity and wealth managers — alongside the law firms and professional services businesses that serve them.
The common thread is not sector. It is that downtime has a direct, immediate cost, and that a regulator will eventually ask how the technology is governed.
Close enough to support the City in person
Our London address is 71-75 Shelton Street in Covent Garden. For contracted clients, on-site attendance and access arrangements are agreed as part of the service rather than promised from a map estimate.
Alongside the City we support firms across Mayfair and the West End and north London, and provide managed IT support across Greater London.

Why choose Nerdster
Desks live through market hours
Nothing disruptive happens between 07:00 and 18:00. Patching, migrations and switch replacements run in agreed evening or weekend windows, because a City trading floor cannot absorb an unplanned reboot.
Answer the FCA without a scramble
Asset registers, incident logs and third-party risk documentation are produced as part of normal service, not scrambled together the week before an FCA or DORA review.
Landlord comms-room rules in the City
Most City comms rooms are landlord-controlled with their own access procedures and riser rules. We handle the permits, escorts and lead times so your move or upgrade does not stall.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you get an engineer to an EC2 or EC3 office?
We agree on-site response arrangements as part of the service. Most issues are assessed remotely first, then we arrange attendance according to priority, building access and travel conditions.
Do you support Bloomberg, Refinitiv and other market data terminals?
Yes. We handle the desktop side — connectivity, entitlements, peripherals, multi-monitor setups and the interaction between terminal software and your security tooling. Terminal licensing and market data contracts stay with the vendor, but we coordinate with them on your behalf.
Can you help us evidence FCA operational resilience requirements?
Yes. We map your important business services to the underlying IT, document impact tolerances, and maintain the incident and third-party registers your compliance team needs. See our FCA operational resilience page for the detail.
Our comms room is controlled by the building, not us. Is that a problem?
It is normal in the City and we deal with it routinely. We manage the access requests, insurance and method statements that landlords require, and we schedule work around the building's own permitted hours.
Do you work with firms that already have an in-house IT person?
Yes. In a co-managed service, your internal person can keep the business-facing work while we provide agreed monitoring, security operations, escalation and cover. We set the split of responsibilities out clearly before work begins.
