Good to know

Questions people ask before they order

Leased line or full fibre: which do I need?

A leased line is a dedicated fibre just for you: the same speed up and down, guaranteed latency, 99.9% availability and a 6-hour repair target. If the office cannot work without the internet, or runs phones, video and cloud together, this is the one. Full fibre shares capacity with neighbours and uploads more slowly, but costs a fraction of the price and makes a very good backup. Many offices run both. The five questions on this page work out which fits you.

Are these real prices?

Yes. When you enter a postcode we ask more than ten UK carriers what they can deliver to that building and show you the best offer at each speed. Prices exclude VAT, are for the contract term you pick, and are valid for 30 days. A price marked "indicative" needs a line check or survey before it is firm. If a survey finds extra construction work, we tell you the figure before anything proceeds and you can accept it, choose another option, or cancel at no cost.

What service level do I get?

Dedicated fibre: 99.9% availability, a 6-hour repair target around the clock, and service credits against your monthly charge if either is missed. Full fibre and broadband: a 24 to 48 hour repair target, no credits. Every line has 24/7 UK fault support and monitoring, so we usually know about a problem before you do.

How long does install take?

The lead time on each line is the carrier's estimate for your address. Typically 45 working days for dedicated fibre where the exchange is already connected, 60 to 90 where it is not, 10 to 25 working days for full fibre and broadband, and about a week for 4G or 5G. A 4G backup can keep you online while the fibre is built.

What happens after I pick a price?

You sign the order form online and set up a Direct Debit. It takes about two minutes. We place the order, confirm the survey date, arrange the install, set up and monitor the router, and confirm go-live. Monthly billing starts from go-live. If you would rather talk first, call 0330 043 7414 and we will do the same by phone.

We already have a line. Can you time the switch?

Yes. Tell us your current contract end date in the notes and we will time the new install so there is no gap and no double-paying. If you are mid-contract, we show you the exit cost against the saving so you can decide with the numbers in front of you.

Who do I call when something breaks?

Nerdster, on 0330 043 7414, at any hour. We raise the fault with the carrier, chase it to the fix target and keep you informed. If the router or the network is the problem rather than the line, we fix that too.

Need the circuit installed, monitored and managed too?

We procure the line, coordinate the install with the landlord and carrier, configure the firewall and monitor it — so connectivity is one less thing on your list.
