Current Wi-Fi security on the family and work networks, with a transition mode only where an older device needs it.
Five separate networks
Family, Guest, IoT, Work-from-home and Cameras. Speakers, TVs and smart-home kit are walled off from the family; cameras are walled off from the internet.
Intrusion detection
The gateway inspects traffic against threat signatures and blocks what matches.
Family-safe filtering
Family-safe DNS and a content filter on the children’s network, beneath the controls set on their own devices.
A private route home
A VPN back to the house for the parents when away. No port forwarding.
Updates on a schedule
Firmware updates in an agreed window. Configuration backed up weekly.
You keep the owner account
You are the owner; Nerdster is a delegated administrator; two-factor authentication on both. We never hold your passwords, and admin credentials sit in your own password manager.
Staff access that expires
A separate staff Wi-Fi, with passwords rotated when someone leaves.
Camera privacy, agreed first
Privacy zones over neighbours’ property, recording retention agreed (30 days by default), a sign at the gate.

What is quoted separately?

Can you arrange the broadband too?
Yes. We arrange full fibre and business lines, and quote them live from our connectivity check.
Who controls the network?
You keep owner rights; Nerdster has delegated administrator access. We never hold your passwords, and admin credentials stay in your own password manager.
Do the cameras need a subscription?
No. Cameras and the doorbell record locally, with no per-camera cloud fee. Recording retention is agreed with you; the default is 30 days.
Do I need a monthly plan?
No. Every package includes 30 days of remote adjustments. The monthly plans are optional and add ongoing monitoring, reviews and support.

Nerdster Ltd is a London IT company, Cyber Essentials certified. Secure Home Network runs on the same UniFi platform we manage for our business clients.
